4 Skincare Tips for Fall

So, it’s the middle of fall. And that means it gets super dry as winter begins to come, which is unfortunate. But thankfully, you have me to provide you with some information about things you can use to avoid dry, flaky, and overall unmoisturized skin.

It’s a pain, I know. But that’s what this post is about. Today, we are exploring five tips to help brighten your skin for the fall weather. Especially those with dry and sensitive skin. It’s the worst.

Use a Thicker Moisturizer:

Thin lotions and moisturizers, unfortunately, aren’t going to cut it when it’s cold outside. Thick moisturizers are helpful for extra moisture and the healing of the skin. And one less thing to worry about is its potential flaky or “scaly” skin.

This is recommended all year round for dry and sensitive skin people (including me).

Hot water is a No-No:

Just because it’s cold doesn’t mean we should turn to hot water for the solution. It can ruin or damage the skin barrier. It can strip away the natural oils in the skin, causing redness, irritation, and itching.

SPF Always!:

SPF (Sun Protection Factor) is to be used for all seasons. With the main benefits being the prevention of sunburn, skin aging, and skin cancer, it also keeps you glowing. Although the sun is not out as much, it’s very important.

Oh! And pro tip? Use a cleansing oil or balm to remove sunscreen during nighttime routines.

Face Steamer:

One of my best purchases of 2023 was a facial steamer. At first, the main thing I got it for was to do gua sha easier, but now I use it every day for gua sha and to help build moisture in my skin. My skin type is very dry and sensitive, so using this has improved it by 100%, along with consistent sunscreen use.
