Facials are expensive nowadays, and many of us can’t afford them because of other things that need to be done. They help with our skin concerns, but sometimes they don’t. Pre-made face masks are good as well when you’re on a budget.
Even on a budget, quantity doesn’t equal quality. They don’t target skin concerns like a dermatologist would since they expose us to many chemicals that aren’t healthy for us.
DIY is not necessarily good considering the weird combinations, but it helps because most of the time it’s natural and uses things you typically use at home.
Yogurt and Lemon:
- Combine 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice in a bowl. Mix them together and apply them to a clean face. Leave it on for 20–30 minutes. If you leave it on longer, you’ll feel a lifting and firming sensation. You can do this mask 2-3 times a week; be careful if you have sensitive skin!
Turmeric and Honey:
- Combine 1/2 tablespoon turmeric powder and 1 or 2 tablespoons of raw honey in a bowl. Mix them together until it forms a paste. Apply all over your face and then let it sit for about 10 minutes, then wash off.
Yogurt, Honey, and Tumeric:
- 1 tablespoon of yogurt, honey, and turmeric powder, apply to your face and then let it sit for about 10–15 minutes. This helps surface cells remove the old and get with the new.
