The new year is in a few weeks, and we have yet to set our skincare goals for 2024. Now, I don’t know about you, but I definitely do.
I have dry and sensitive skin and am acne-prone, so I tend to be in the trenches when finding the right products or a suitable routine that won’t mess with my skin.
Creating a Night and Day Routine:
Some of us still don’t have the basics written down regarding routines, and that’s fine. Now is the time to start setting up or trying to figure out the best routine for you.
Day: Water cleanser, toner (optional), serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen
Night: Oil cleanser, water cleanser, serum, moisturizer, and creams (prescription)
Cut Back on the Caffeine:
Coffee and highly caffeinated drinks are not the way to go, but if you enjoy them, I will not stop you from enjoying them. I am saying that you should start to drink in moderation because caffeine and sugar can have a serious effect on your skin.
Removing Your Makeup the Right Way:
Unfortunately, as much as I would love for you to sleep in your makeup, it’s not good in the long run. If you use micellar water, wash it off when you’re done removing your makeup.
If you’re using a cleansing balm, 1) rub oil onto the face; 2) add water to emulsify
Wearing Makeup Suited for Your Skin Type:
If you wear makeup, find makeup that’s in your price range and works well with your skin type. If you don’t know anything about skin types, there’s dry, sensitive, oily, combination, and normal skin.
