School season has opened back up for us, which means we need to be productive all day every day, with school, of course.
When school is not in session, we have a hard time finding things to keep us productive in a healthy sense.
Here are some tips to help you stay productive all year.
Make a to-do list.
Many people make mental schedules in their heads to see when and where they have to get whatever they need to be done. Simply use the ‘Notes’ app on your phone and type down a little list of important things that need to be done every day.
Doing this can save you time later on and keep you on track with what you’re supposed to do.
Reward yourself:
After a busy day at work and school, you come home and are ready to settle down for the rest of the night. When you’re done with your list of important things, reward yourself.
This could be anything, really. A nice bath, a massage, getting your nails done, or a good night of just eating ice cream can help set a calm mood for the night.
Start early:
In order to keep yourself occupied throughout the busiest hours of the day, start early so you won’t have much to deal with later on.
You don't have to wake up at 5 a.m. to proceed with your day, but make it at least an hour earlier than your usual awakening.
Don’t multitask:
On busy days, you’re the busiest; don’t do more than one thing at a time. You’re trying to focus on one simple task, get it done, and make sure it's handled before working on something new.
Plan out the most time-consuming things to the least time-consuming things to avoid multitasking on things that need more attention than others.
Take breaks:
Forget those people who can’t seem to tear themselves away from their work for a drink of water; taking breaks is important for everyone.
Sometimes your mind trails when you focus on one thing too long, but that doesn’t mean you should start something else. Take a ten-minute break and give yourself time to recuperate.
Focus:
One thing everyone does in the midst of an important project is become distracted by the main objective.
Put your distractions away and get working.
