Mistakes in skincare don't mean the end of the world. When it comes to protecting your skin barrier, there may occasionally be other factors besides the fact that you completely misuse things. It's not a big deal if it's your lifestyle because that's just how the skin functions. It's almost a necessity to understand how your skin functions, but it becomes even more crucial when you do things that might unintentionally harm your barrier. By avoiding these mistakes, you can increase your understanding of the skincare industry.
Dehydration:
Dehydration is extremely uncomfortable. And you may have dry skin and/or sensitive skin, but that can be easily avoided. Dehydration can cause dry skin, acne, and wrinkles. Products that contain alcohol and similar chemicals can also cause dehydration. Skin patches are common when this mistake is made. And it’s perfectly normal to have it, but when it becomes too severe, taking care of it shouldn’t be a question.
Dirty Phone:
This is a common mistake made throughout the world's population. It shouldn’t be too much of a problem. If you wear makeup, bacteria from the makeup could transfer to your face from wearing it to having a bare face. As long as you clean your phone once a day, you can easily avoid this mistake.
Dirty Pillowcases:
When you sleep, your face rubs on the material, which can cause wrinkles just from the friction. If you’re not a big fan of cotton pillowcases, silk pillowcases are a good alternative. If you love your cotton pillowcases, try to wash them at least 1-2 times a week to avoid any dirt collecting on the material.
Using Toxic Chemicals:
When you first enter the skincare world to improve your face for whatever reason, you simply look at what is popular because it "works."That’s not good, but it’s okay! Using toxic chemicals can dry out your face and potentially cause acne. Chemicals in the US are everywhere. There are not many banned ingredients represented in skincare, so it’s difficult to find what products are clean and which ones are toxic to use.
These common mistakes introduced into your life should not only help your journey but can also improve your lifestyle!
