Based on research, Korean skincare started way back in the Three Kingdoms and peaked during the Goryeo Kingdom. In the Goryeo Kingdom, they used K-Beauty to change their appearance. K-Beauty used to be makeup, and now it’s mostly skincare products.

What is it?

Korean beauty (obviously) originated in Korea. The products are usually made within the Korean philosophy and mindset.

When using Korean beauty products, you want to be consistent and determined for beautiful results.

The Korean skincare and beauty philosophy hydrates, nourishes, and protects the skin’s barrier. It’s essential in Korea.

It focuses more on the prevention and protection of the skin than anything else. That is its primary focus.

Korean Skincare Steps:

In most common Korean skincare routines, 10 is the best number.

You don’t have to start with 10 steps; usually, people dumb it down or heighten the amount according to personal preference.

To give an idea of how the general routine is:

  1. Oil-based cleanser

  2. Water-based cleanser

  3. Exfoliant

  4. Toner

  5. Essence

  6. Treatment

  7. Sheet Mask

  8. Eye Cream

  9. Moisturizer

  10. SPF

If 10 is too much, try doing half!

  1. Oil-based cleanser

  2. Water-based cleanser

  3. Toner

  4. Moisturizer

  5. SPF
